Getting motivated for estate planning

A couple of months ago, we wrote a post about why younger people need to consider an estate plan. Many people don't have a will, and while it may be an intimidating and scary topic, getting a will is still a vital step in anyone's life. Having a will protects you, your assets and your heirs or beneficiaries. Not having a will is actually the scary prospect.

A will is just one aspect of an estate plan, but it could be considered the most important part. That depends on the case of course. Still, the will is very important. If you fail to compile a compliant and thorough will, it could be vulnerable to a legal challenge.

The thing is, many young people don't consider the possibility of an accident or a major life event occurring. Circumstances can change very rapidly, and when they do, you will want to have an estate plan in place to protect you. Younger people may think they are impervious to these massive changes, but they can happen to anyone at any time. If you think ahead and have an estate plan in place, you can protect your "nest egg" and save your family and loved ones a lot of legal problems and headaches.

If you are in need of legal advice or support while constructing your will or estate plan, or if an estate plan that you have a stake in has been legally challenged, then consult with the experienced estate plan attorneys at The Law Offices of Karen Brady.
