Gabe McFarland has lived in Colorado for over 35 years and has been litigating cases in state and federal courts since 1995.
He brings with him a broad range of legal experience. For many years he has been recognized as one of Colorado’s top litigators by being named to Colorado’s “Super Lawyers,” which recognizes the top 5% of lawyers in the state. His litigation practice is focused on helping businesses and professionals in business-related disputes and assisting victims of personal injury accidents. Gabe continues to manage an active litigation practice at Evans & McFarland, which he founded in 2003.
Gabe also has a passion for estate planning and related work (including trust and probate administration, Medicaid planning, and long-term care planning). His litigation background gives him a unique perspective in those areas.
Prior to Evans and McFarland, Gabe was a partner at Bieging, Shapiro, & Burrus, LLP. Before that, Gabe worked for The Beatty Law Firm, P.C., where he was responsible for three multi-million dollar patent infringement lawsuits and for environmental and toxic tort litigation throughout the country. During the previous six years, Gabe was associated with the international law firm of McKenna & Cuneo, LLP, where he managed all phases of a sophisticated commercial litigation practice, including the prosecution of a $25 million claim against the U.S. Government.
Gabe is a 1995 graduate of the University of Denver, College of Law. During his tenure at the College of Law, Gabe served as an editor of the Transportation Law Journal and spent two years as a teaching assistant for the university’s legal research and writing class. Gabe received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1992, graduating magna cum laude.
When not working, Gabe enjoys hiking, biking, fishing, and otherwise spending time in Colorado’s beautiful backcountry with his wife and three kids. He is also an avid longboard surfer.
